Today we went to visit a village to work and learn more about rural Rwanda. I carried water up steep hills and hoed the earth. It was amazing because I’ve never done anything like that before. I experienced how people in this village live every day, and how hard they have to work every day to get what they need. We cut plants and made baskets so we could carry things on our heads, and then we walked all the way down to feed the cows. I truly believe this was a once in a lifetime experience. The women in the village said I looked like them, and asked if I was originally born in Africa! I loved the women we met. They even showed me how to hold their babies in a wrap on my back. I just loved it.
